9-11-2007 AQK Change Management Launches New Site

AQK Change Management are pleased to announce the launch of their new web site, which incorporates new ways to improve your business

July 2007

On July 5th 2007 two graduates of programmes co-facilitated by Quentin Kopp of AQK Change Management for Management Transformations Ltd won awards from the Chartered Management Institute.

They were presented by Tim Melville-Ross the President of the Chartered Management Institute at the Cass Business School in the City of London.

Helen, who works at BG Group Head Office at Thames Valley Park, Reading graduated from the International Management Programme.

Eduard who works for Kazakhstan Petroleum Operating (KPO) in the Karagakanak graduated from the programme designed to develop managers to replace ex-pat managers in this huge field. Investors in KPO include BG Group

Successful Management Development Programme in an Oil Field in a Central Asian Republic

February 2006

AQK Change Management has been a partner of OD specialists, Management Transformations Ltd in a programme to prepare local nationals to replace ex-pat Managers in a major oil field, which is being developed in a Central Asian Republic. The investing companies' license included a commitment to achieve a staged hand over to local nationals. The programme started with an entry of 48 in 2004, who successfully completed their 2 year programme and graduated in October 2005.

The success of the initial group has resulted in a second group undertaking the training, who have just started the second year of the programme and a third group of 60 people who have just started their first year. Many of the initial group have already been promoted once and several are now in Operational Superintendent roles.

The first year of the Supervisory Management Programme (SMP) is accredited by the UK Chartered Management Institute. The second year, which was designed by AQK Change Management, builds on this to teach the delegates project management skills, which they put to practical use. They form teams to identify a significant improvement opportunity. They design and sell a project to their Senior Managers and then manage the project to completion. See picture below.

At the graduation ceremony for the first year in October 2005 the Operations Director said “The management training complements on-the-job technical training that our company provides to its local personnel as part of this Programme. The participation in this course has helped our employees to accelerate the development of their skills and this will undoubtedly play a positive role in their future careers”.  

The Manager responsible for the programme, referring to the third year of entry, said “The course is based on best international training practices which have proven very efficient. Following the success of the first enrolment we decided to run an additional SMP course in order to give an opportunity to other employees of the company to study under this programme”.

 Inaugural Interim Manager of the Year Award 2001-2002

25th October 2002 -- Quentin Kopp was presented with an award for being in the final short list for the prestigious new title of Interim Manager of the Year at the Le Meridien Grosvenor House Hotel. Quentin had been nominated for the award by Robert Stockdale, European HR Director for NSK, the major Japanese bearings and steering systems manufacturer, for whom Quentin recently completed assignments. Robert said " "Quentin quickly established credibility with senior executives....His general management background, specialist HR Knowledge and excellent computer skills quickly made him an invaluable resource......whilst his language skills and interest in different cultures helped build bridges across our European business"
