NSK Steering Systems Europe

Cover for HR Director and selection of replacement. The role also involved planning for a new factory in SW Poland, recruiting its Senior Management team and creating HR policies compliant with the Polish Labour Code.


NSK Europe

NSK Europe have a large multi-product business which it acquired from the Polish Government. Its principal product is bearings, but it has 5 other subsidiaries in a Holding Company. The privatisation included a special agreement with the many Trades Unions for a 4 year period with no compulsory redundancy. The task was to ensure that the Japanese owner's interests were protected in the way the agreement was renegotiated which resulted in over 400 jobs being declared redundancy. The local management were a team comprised of both Japanese and Senior Polish members.
